As with Project 2, the 9V batteries depict the motor battery power supply. The black module in the middle of the breadboard depicts the L298N motor driver module with the connections as described earlier.

Connect the left pin of the potentiometer to the drain pin of the mosfet, the middle pin to the gate pin of the mosfet, and the right pin to the negative wire of the 9V battery clip.

Suppose the slider of the potentiometer is adjusted so that the voltage at its slider is 3V. Since the slider terminal is connected to A0 pin, the voltage at A0 pin will be also 3V.

But BLDC motors are more difficult to drive than brushed motors. With a brushed motor, all you need to do is to connect the power source to the positive and negative leads from the motor.

BDC motors may have a very simple design and are easy to control (some of them may not even need a controller). This is a cost-effective solution that can perfectly fit low voltage devices powered by lithium-ion batteries, including robotics and consumer electronics.       

While sensors offer obvious advantages, they come with disadvantages as well. Some sensors have low tolerance to dust, and require regular maintenance. Others operate properly over only a limited range of temperatures. The use of sensors, and the implementation of all the attendant circuitry, increases manufacturing costs; and highly precise sensors are of course the most expensive.

It is an efficient method of speed control of DC motor. When two or more similar series motors are employed in pairs, speed control can be achieved by combining the series resistance with motors in series and parallel connections.

Three wires are needed. Insulated wires work best as they prevent wires from crossing and the battery from short circuiting.
